They are not idle in Tychy. Before the 2025/26 Fortuna I Liga season, the club announced as many as six new transfers, but it is possible that this is not the end of the staff moves. GKS is clearly signaling its ambitions - the fight for promotion to the Ekstraklasa. The summer transfer window is bringing a real revolution in GKS. Six players have already joined the team, and in the corridors it is said that the club is still looking for further reinforcements. The combination of experience, youth and international potential raises great hopes among fans.

New players in the GKS Tychy squad

Among the most high-profile transfers was Damian Kądzior , a 33-year-old winger and former Polish international. The player with a past in Dinamo Zagreb and Turkish Alanyaspor is to become the leader of the offensive and the main creator of the action. Leon-Oumar Wechsel came from Hannover 96 – a German goalkeeper, who is to increase the competition between the posts and provide stability at the back. Kasjan Lipkowski , a young player on loan from Arka Gdynia, appeared in defense. The club secured the option of first refusal, which shows great faith in his development. GKS's offensive power was strengthened by Kacper Wełniak , a classic, strong striker, who spent the last season in Motor Lublin colors. His play with his back to the goal and the ability to find his way in the penalty area may prove crucial in difficult matches. The transfer of Nico Adamczyk looks very promising – an offensive midfielder who developed for years in the Borussia Dortmund academy and is currently a representative of Poland in the youth national teams. He is a player with a great overview of the field and a high culture of play. Nico Baier has also reported in the midfield – a dynamic player from Germany who can operate on both sides of the pitch. Speed, dribbling and energy are to give the Tychy team a new quality on the flanks.

Stabilization and Continuation

Another important move was the extension of the contract with Jakub Tecław, one of the pillars of the defense. The contract is valid until June 2026 and gives the coach a guarantee of quality in the defense line.

A clear goal: fighting for promotion

The Fortuna I Liga games start on July 18. GKS Tychy will face Miedź Legnica at their home stadium for the opening match. The club has already started preparations, including friendly matches with Arka Gdynia and Lechia Gdańsk. The transfers the club has made show that Tychy is aiming higher than before. According to many experts, GKS is becoming one of the main candidates for promotion - the minimum is the play-offs, but with such a line-up and potential, direct promotion is not unrealistic.

Ambitions for the new season

GKS Tychy wants to end the 2025/26 season among the best. The squad is broad, balanced and versatile - and this is just the beginning. If one or two more players with the right profile join the team, the club will gain even greater depth of the squad. Fans can therefore look to the coming months with optimism - Tychy has built a team that can and should fight to return to the football elite.
