Piotr Stokowiec takes over Pogoń Grodzisk Mazowiec, the experienced coach is trying to rebuild himself in the Betclic 1 League newcomer after an unsuccessful adventure in ŁKS.
Before the last round of Betclic 2 Liga, Pogoń Grodzisk Mazowiecki announced that they were parting ways with their coach - Marcin Sasal. At first, this decision seemed completely misunderstood, after all, it was Marcin Sasal who brought Pogoń from Betclic 3 Liga to the central level and then, as a fantastic newcomer, occupying the leader's seat for most of the season, he promoted with the club from Grodzisk to the back of the Ekstraklasa. However, after learning the reasons for the coach's dismissal, they can be understood - during the match in Kraków with Hutnik, the coach appeared in the locker room (he could not be with the team because he was punished with a red card in the previous round) and during the break (up to the 45th minute 2-0 for the team from Kraków) he was supposedly under the influence of alcohol, as it turned out later it was not the first time. Pogoń needed an experienced manager if it thinks about staying in the Betclic 1 League, so the club's activists from Grodzisk decided to employ such a person, Piotr Stokowiec - he managed, among others, ŁKS, Zagłębie Lubin, Jagiellonia Białystok and Lechia Gdańsk, with whom he won the Polish Cup and Super Cup, he managed teams in almost 300 Ekstraklasa matches. For the coach himself, it may be a chance to rebuild his reputation after the last unsuccessful rescue mission in ŁKS, which after 12 rounds was in last place and after 10 matches in which he was the coach of the 1st team, there was no change. Piotr Stokowiec will have the opportunity to make his debut on August 6 in a match in the preliminary round of the Polish Cup.
