Before returning to the Ekstraklasa, GKS Katowice focused on a specific strategy: investing in young, success-hungry players. The team was joined by five players who are not only to strengthen the team here and now, but also to develop with the club.
Maciej Rosołek (23 years old)
The signing of the Legia Warsaw graduate is a clear signal that GKS wants a dynamic and effective player in attack. Rosołek has a solid season behind him in Piast Gliwice, where he played 36 matches, scoring 5 goals. Fast, strong and already experienced on the league pitches.
Marcel Wędrychowski (23 years old)
Signed from Pogoń Szczecin on a free transfer. An agile, feisty winger who can get the offense going. He has played for Poland's youth teams and is great on both flanks.
Kacper Lukasiak (21 years old)
Also from Pogoń – a young playmaker with great ease in operating the ball and impressive statistics from the Central Junior League. This is a player with great potential, who could be the discovery of the season.
Mateusz Kowalczyk (20 years old)
After a successful loan from Brøndby IF, GKS decided to buy him permanently. He was one of the team's leaders last season - a combative, intelligent midfielder who could be the heart of the second line for years to come.
Aleksander Paluszek (24 years old)
An experienced defender, most recently with Śląsk Wrocław. 192 cm tall, physically strong and good with his head – he is expected to strengthen the centre of defence and provide the team with greater stability.
The new names in the squad are not just transfers – they are a conscious construction of a team based on youth, energy and hunger for the game. In Katowice, they do not want to be just a newcomer – they want to leave a permanent mark in the Ekstraklasa.
