The 2024/25 season played by Lech Poznań will be remembered in the history of the club in golden letters. "Kolejorz" won its ninth Polish championship title, confirming its dominance in the Ekstraklasa and regaining the crown after a three-year break. Under the leadership of Niels Frederiksen, the first foreign coach to lead Lech to the championship, the team from Poznań presented spectacular, effective and characterful football. This is the story of a season that will remain in the hearts of fans for a long time.

Lech Poznań began the campaign with a clear goal – to return to the Ekstraklasa throne and to European competition after a disappointing fifth place in the previous competition. The change on the coaching bench, where Mariusz Rumak was replaced by Danish coach Niels Frederiksen, turned out to be a bullseye. Frederiksen, who has been voted coach of the month several times, introduced a new quality to the team's game. His philosophy based on high pressing, fast wings and solid defense brought results almost immediately.

The 2024/25 season, which began on July 19, 2024, showed from the very first rounds that Lech Poznań would be a dangerous contender for the championship title. The competition for the Ekstraklasa crown with Raków Częstochowa lasted until the last minutes of the final round, keeping fans in constant suspense. "Kolejorz's" path to the top was full of matches that became milestones in the championship campaign. Already at the beginning of the season, Lech shocked their rivals by smashing the reigning Polish champion, Jagiellonia Białystok, 5:0, which sent a clear signal about the team's ambitions. Another breakthrough moment was a crushing 5:2 win over their eternal rival, Legia Warsaw, which confirmed "Kolejorz's" dominance. On the difficult ground in Szczecin, Lech easily defeated the always dangerous Pogoń 3:0, demonstrating their strength in away matches. An unforgettable spectacle was the clash with Puszcza Niepołomice, ending with a result rarely seen in Ekstraklasa of 8:1, a true display of shooting power. The key to the fate of the title was the away win 1:0 with Legia in the last straight of the season, which gave the team confidence at a decisive moment. The final chord was the 1:0 victory over Piast Gliwice on May 24, 2025, which sealed the Polish championship. These matches not only provided Lech with valuable points, but also built the character of the team, which fought a fierce battle with Raków for the highest trophy until the end.

Unfortunately, Lech's adventure in the Polish Cup ended quickly and unexpectedly. In the first round, "Kolejorz" sensationally lost 1:0 to Resovia Rzeszów, a team from a lower league, which was a painful blow to the fans and the team. This defeat, although disappointing, paradoxically allowed Lech to fully focus on the main goal - the Polish championship. Freed from the additional burdens of the cup, Niels Frederiksen's players could focus all their energy on the league games, which ultimately brought them the desired title.

Lech Poznań's success in the 2024/25 season is the result of excellent teamwork, but a few names deserve special mention. The Poznań team's offensive was the best in the entire Ekstraklasa, scoring 68 goals during the league campaign. The undisputed leader of this line was Mikael Ishak, who once again proved that he is the basic "nine" of the team from Wielkopolska. The Swedish striker scored over 20 goals during the season, cementing the offensive and being a key link in the most important matches. Afonso Sousa shone in the midfield, whose creativity, assists and aggressiveness earned him the title of the best midfielder of the season at the Ekstraklasa Gala. Alongside him, Radosław Murawski and Ali Gholizadeh played excellent games, playing their best seasons in their careers, driving Lech's game at key moments. The defence, led by Antonio Milić, was one of the pillars of the
