Bartłomiej Wdowik has officially been announced as a new player for Jaga. The popular "Wdowa" was loaned for a year from Portuguese SC Braga. The 24-year-old defender represented Hannover last season, where he appeared in 22 matches, recorded two assists and was shown a yellow card three times. According to Transfermarkt, his value is 1 million euros.
Wdowik was a key figure for Jaga in the 2023/24 season and largely thanks to him, the Pride of Podlasie won the Polish Championship. The player was awarded the title of the defender of the Ekstraklasa 2023/24.
The new acquisition of the Pride of Podlasie was born on September 25, 2000 in Olkusz. "Wdowa" played in many youth teams, until Ruch Chorzów finally noticed his potential. At first, he played in the Chorzowian U-19 team, later joining their main team. In the following season, he represented Odra Opole, where he showed himself so well that Jagiellonia decided to buy him for 125 thousand euros.
The pride of Podlasie had been counting on him from the very beginning, but Wdowik really came into his own in the 2023/24 season, when he won the Polish championship, which caught the attention of SC Braga. The Portuguese team acquired Wdowik right after the end of the championship season. Unfortunately, the Braga coach was not a big fan of the talent of the Polish defender, who did not break into the starting eleven. Eventually, he went on loan to Hannover, a team from the German 2nd league.
