Pierwszy mecz 31. kolejki rozpoczniemy od wojny dwóch światów — w Mielcu przedostatnia drużyna w tabeli podejmie pierwszą. Niesamowita presja tego starcia może spowodować spadek Stali Mielec z Ekstraklasy albo utratę fotela lidera przez Raków Częstochowa. Raków, chcący walczyć o mistrzostwo Polski, musi pokonać drużynę Ivana Djurdjevicia i przybliżyć się do osiągnięcia swojego celu. Kiepska gra Stali Mielec doprowadziła drużynę do miejsca, w którym się znajduje, czyli przedostatniego miejsca w tabeli. Piłkarze i trener na pewno nie są zadowoleni z takiego obrotu spraw. W Częstochowie humory na pewno dopisują — czego nie można powiedzieć o Stali Mielec. Marek Papszun krótko o meczu: „Jako trener, sztab i klub pomagamy zawodnikom i pracujemy, żeby wygrać kolejne spotkanie, bo to jest dla nas najważniejsze. Nie patrzymy dalej niż na Stal Mielec i do tego meczu się przygotowujemy.” Ivan Djurdjević pozytywnie przed meczem: „Z meczu na mecz zespół prezentuje lepszą formę, gra stabilniej. Widać to w liczbach. To nas motywuje w naszej pracy. Wiemy jednak, że uciekają nam punkty — walczymy z czasem.”
