W sobotę 24 maja 2025 roku w Poznaniu odbędzie się mecz Lech Poznań- Piast Gliwice. Lech będzie walczyć o tytuł mistrza Polski. Klub z Poznania jest w o tyle korzystnej sytuacji, że wygrana niezależnie od innych wyników zapewni im tytuł mistrza Polski. W razie potknięcia będą musieli liczyć na korzystny wynik toczącego się równolegle meczu Raków Częstochowa- Widzew Łódź. Między Lechem, a Rakowem jest tylko 1 punkt różnicy, w razie remisu punktowego mistrzem będzie Raków, ponieważ w meczach bezpośrednich było 0:0 i 1:0 dla Rakowa.

On Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 5:30 p.m., the Piast-Górnik derby will take place in Gliwice. This will be only the 28th match between these teams. The main reason was the fact that Piast was only promoted to the Ekstraklasa in the 21st century and, apart from the previous 2 meetings in the Polish Cup, these teams have not played each other. So this derby does not have the same traditions as, for example, Górnik, Ruch, GKS Katowice or Polonia Bytom. However, since the 2017/2018 season, since Ruch's relegation to the first league and Górnik Zabrze's return to the Ekstraklasa, the Silesian derby has come to the forefront, as other teams from this region have played in the Ekstraklasa sporadically since then, so although they do not match the history and traditions of other teams, in recent years they have become the most important duel in Upper Silesia.
