On June 6, 2025, Kamil Grosicki will play the last match of his career in the national team. This event will take place during a friendly match with Moldova at the legendary Silesian Stadium in Chorzów. On this occasion, I will recall the career of the popular Grosik so far.

The Beginnings

Kamil Grosicki was born on June 8, 1988 in Szczecin. He took his first steps in the junior team of Pogoń Szczecin. In the 2005/2006 season, he made his debut in the senior team. It happened on May 6, 2006 in a match against Arka Gdynia, in which he played only 4 minutes in total. In addition, there were 6 minutes against Polonia Warsaw. Then he signed a 5-year contract with this club. In the following season, he played in 23 matches, and against Górnik Łęczna he scored his first goal in the Ekstraklasa, but this club was relegated from the Ekstraklasa, taking the last 16th place in the table.

Legia Warsaw

For the 2007/2008 season, Grosicki signed a 4-year contract with Legia Warsaw. He played in 11 matches, scoring 1 goal. However, non-sporting problems arose, it turned out that he had fallen into gambling, and Legia was paying his debts. Therefore, at the end of November, the club sent him to a specialist addiction clinic in Masuria.

FC Sion

In 2008 he was loaned to the Swiss club FC Sion. He played in a total of 8 matches, scoring 2 goals. Here, more non-sporting problems arose: he was late for training, had a car accident without a driving license, and additionally gave up French lessons paid for by the club. The Swiss team's authorities gave him a document to sign, waiving his earnings until the end of the year. In the 2008/2009 season, he ended up in the FC Sion reserves. Grosicki decided to return to Szczecin, where he began individual training. His career seemed to be coming to an end. In February 2008, he made his debut in the national team: first he played 10 minutes against Finland, and then 63 minutes against Estonia.

Jagiellonia Bialystok

For the 2008/2009 season he was loaned from Legia Warsaw to Jagiellonia Białystok. There he clearly came back to life. From February 2009 he played in 13 matches, scoring 4 goals and providing 4 assists. He was one of the best players in the club. The team took 8th place in the league table. Jagiellonia signed a permanent contract with him for the 2009/2010 season. However, he was late for the team training camp and arrived under the influence of alcohol, which caused a conflict with the then Jagiellonia coach Michał Probierz. Eventually, the situation was resolved. He played in all 30 matches, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists. Ultimately, Jagiellonia took 11th place in the table, but also won the Polish Cup with the club. In October 2009, he played 81 minutes in the Polish national team under Stefan Majewski as part of the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The match took place in Prague, and the opponents were the Czechs. In the 2010/2011 season, he won the Super Polski with Jagiellonia. He also played in both matches against Aris Saloniki in the third round of the Europa League qualifiers. Jagiellonia lost the two-legged match, and Grosicki had 1 assist. In the autumn of 2010, he was a pillar of the team, but he left the club for 2011.

Sivasspor

At the beginning of 2011, Grosicki signed a contract with the Turkish club Sivasspor. He quickly won a place in the squad. In the spring of 2011, he played in 17 matches, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists. In the 2011/2012 season, he played in 34 matches, scoring 6 goals and providing 9 assists. In the 2012/2013 season, he played in 28 matches, scoring 2 goals and providing 6 assists. In the autumn of 2013, he played in only 5 matches. In 2014, he changed not only the club, but also the country.
