Karol Linetty – free agent, proposed return to Serie B?

Karol Linetty has ended his contract with Torino

The 30-year-old left Torino FC after five years and 142 appearances, in which he scored 3 goals and provided 4 assists. In the 2024-25 season, he played 30 games, serving the team, including in matches against Cagliari (2-3) and Udinese (2-0), where he scored a goal and provided an assist, respectively. His contract expired on 30 June 2025 - the club officially thanked him for his years of play and announced that he remains a free agent.

On the Club profile we can read - "Karol Linetty ends his adventure with Torino. For five years he played in the burgundy shirt. We wish you good luck in your next challenge"

Possible return to Sampdoria (Serie B)

According to transfery.info , Sampdoria, recently defending their position in the Serie B relegation play-offs, are considering Linette’s return – a sentimental move given his nearly 130 appearances for the club between 2016 and 2020. However, a transfer would require Linette to accept a significant pay cut, which at Torino was around €1.5 million net per year.

Italian environment still open

The footballer has settled in Italy and would like to continue his career there – the scenario of returning to Lech Poznań is unlikely. He has not made a decision yet, but it is possible that the offer from Genoa will become real – provided that the financial conditions are accepted.
